Deng Xiaoping's Thoughts on Talent and the Way to Be Talented for Modern Youth

邓小平对人才问题有着深刻论述。他认为国家现代化的关键在人才。社会主义国家需要的人才,要有理想、有道德、有文化、有纪律,其中最重要的是有理想。当代青年要成长为对国家的有用之才,就必须确立牢固的无产阶级世界观,坚定共产主义的理想和信念,积极接受实践的锻炼和考验,并努力培养自己的开拓创新精神。

Deng Xiaoping elucidated the talent problem profoundly. He thought the key to a nation's modernization was talent. Talents needed in socialist countries are those who have ideal, morals, knowledge and discipline, among which ideal is the most important. Young people, who want to be useful talents for our country, must set up firm proletarian world outlook, resolute communist ideal and faith, must take exercise and pass throught ordeals in practice, and must develop their creative spirit with effort.
