摘要
LOM(Learning Object Metadata)具有能够极大的保持教育资源的信息,能够极大的压缩教育资源的容量,且具有XML的结构化的形式的优势。基于LOM实现的教育资源注册与发现系统,采用对教育资源LOM元数据信息的集中管理代替对教育资源实体的集中管理,使得教育资源在学习者或教育者中实现了高效的共享。
The Internet offers a huge number of teaching and learning resources. To fully utilize these educational resources and minimize the wastage of human and material resources, a common standard to define educational resources is necessary for managing, retrieving, evaluating and utilizing them so that they can be shared and exchanged. Learning Object Metadata (LOM) is one of the best proposals for fulfilling this role, and has been widely used in China. This common standard for registering and retrieving educational resources enables us to maintain, compress and save a large amount of information in XML format. Instead of centrally co-ordinating physical educational resources, which might not be efficient, the definition of educational resources with LOM can make information sharing possible.
