蒙尘的“心”与解蔽之道——试论夏目漱石的《心》与荀子思想的关系

The Dusty Heart and the Way to Uncover the Nature——on the Relationship of Natsume Soseki's Kokoro and Hsun Tse's Philosophy

夏目漱石的晚期小说《心》形象地诠释了荀子的解蔽思想,指出只有在真诚的反思中敞开人生,在忏罪意识中批判自我,才能获得真正的解放,同时也隐含着作者对日本发动侵略战争的批判和对国家前途和国民命运的担忧。这是日本近代知识分子在社会急剧转型时期不断确认自我、反思自我、追求自我归宿心路历程的反映,是作品真实价值所在。

Natsume Soseki vividly demonstrated Hsun Tse's Philosophy of Uncovering the Nature of Objects in his later novel Kokoro (the heart of things), pointing out that real spiritual freedom can only be achieved by sincere reflection and life revelation and by self-reproach in a sense of contrition. And it's not difficult to discover the implied condemnation of the Japanese Invasion and the author's anxiety for the future of the country. The novel is a reflection of the mental journey of self-verificatioin, self-reflection and end-result finding of the neoteric Japanese intellectuals against the backdrop of a country undergoing sharp social transformation.
