汪曾棋是一个士大夫式的作家。他在小说创作中对美好人性的自觉追求、对理想人格的讴歌决定于他所接受的以仁为核心的内圣外王的传统士大夫精神和内儒外道的文化心理。这种文化心理一方面使汪曾祺找到了自己的创作题材,另一方面使他的创作表现为对现实的逃遁。

This thesis stated that pursuit to normai human feelings and singing the praise of ideal personality in his works was determined by the spirit of being a saint inside and a king outside centered at the benevolence which Wang Zeng - qi absorbed as a scholar bureaucrat from traditional culture, and by his traditional psychology com-bmed Confucianism with Taoism. The traditional psychology influenced him on finding creative subject matter and creative angle of view that was suitable to him. On the other hand,this psychology made him try to escape reality when he set about creation.
