Philosophy Is an Ever-lasting Inquiry

哲学开始于惊疑 (惊奇和疑惑 ) ,是灵魂对于世界和人生的根本性追问。不能把世界观和人生观狭隘地理解为一套现成的意识形态。哲学的价值在于使我们始终保持对世界和人生的惊疑和思考。一个哲学家的思想的价值不取决于站在唯物主义还是唯心主义立场上 ,而取决于是否在总体上丰富和加深了人类对世界的思考。哲学的性质介于宗教和科学之间。 2 0 0 0年来西方主流哲学奋斗的目标是试图把哲学建立成一门科学 ,这一努力失败了。在康德之后 ,哲学家们已经达成共识 :世界没有一个所谓本来面目 (本质 ) ,其惟一的存在方式是现象。但是 ,哲学不会终结 。

Philosophy begins with wonder (surprise and bewilderment) and is an essential inquiry of soul into the world and life. The world outlook and the outlook on life cannot be understood merely as a ready-made ideology. The value of philosophy lies in the fact that it can make us keep on wondering and thinking about the world and life continuously. The value of a philosopher's thinking does not rely on its materialism or idealism but relies on whether it can enrich human understanding of the world as a whole. Essentially, philosophy lies between religion and science. For two thousand years, the main theories of Western philosophy endeavored to make it a kind of science but failed. The philosophers after Kant have got a common understanding: the world has not a so-called original reality, and the sole way of its existence finds expression in phenomenon. However, philosophy won't terminate because of this, and will continue developing with its intrinsic contradictions.$$$$
