摘要 The observation on the stricture of bi—peak—tubercle on Lemma in rice wasconducted with. scanning electric—microscope. It was found that several vertical rows in good order of bi-peak-tubercles make up the surface of lemma in rice. The top of a bi-peak-tubercle unit has a pair of small tubercles which are called "peak". The lowlying place between the two peaks is called"col". The lowlying place between the two vertical bi-peak-tubercles is called "depression". The "ravine" between the two rows of the bi-peak-tubercles is called "valley". Glume hairs and tenuous hairs grow in the "valley" (see figure 1-A, 1-B). There are differences on the characters of bi-peak-tubercles of O.rufipogon, O.sativa L., indica and japonica in the distance of the two peaks, the
