The operation mode of telecom operators is changing from service-centered to customer-centered. The original unitary Operation Support System (OSS) is now becoming more and more incapable of satisfying the competence requirements of new services. NGN also challenges the Next Generation OSS(NGOSS). First, key technologies and framework of NGOSS are introduced in detail. Then, consideration is given to the migration from OSS to NGOSS. Support to the operation of NGN by NGOSS is discussed.
