National IT Application and Radio and TV Network

信息技术正向国民经济和社会发展各个领域全面渗透,信息化对改造传统产业、加快结构调整起到越来越重要的作用,对深化改革、应对加入世贸组织挑战以及全面建设小康社会产生越来越重要的影响。原广电部副部长何栋材撰文,详细论述了当前推进信息化的主要工作,阐述了广播电视网在国家信息化的地位与作用,指出有线电视网与计算机网、电信网的竞争与融合是市场经济发展的必然结果。

The information technology (IT) is penetrating into every field of the nationaleconomy and social development and is playing a more and more important role intransforming traditional industries and accelerating restructuring. It has a more andmore important influence upon deepening the reform, meeting challenges broughtabout by accession to WTO and building a well-off society in an all-round way. HeDongcai, the late Deputy Minister of Radio, Film and TV, in his paper, treats in detailthe main work on promoting IT application at present, expounds the position and roleof the radio and TV network in national IT application and points out that the compititionbetween and convergence of CATV, computer and telecom networks are an inevitableoutcome of development of the market economy.
