Multifunction, Forms and Construction Principles of City Indications

我国当代城市的标识体系对城市潜力发挥的支持不足,难以展示城市丰富的人文内涵,远远跟不上日常使用和旅游业发展的需要。兼具功能性和艺术性的中国古典式的标识体、国外优秀的城市标识范例及其制度和方法,是我们在构建和完善城市标识系统时应该继承和借鉴的。实施城市标识工程应当遵循正确的原则。

The urban indication system is a carrier of historical and cultural heritage in a city. However, such a system in China is unable to show enough the unique historical and cultural features of a city and consequently slows down the growth of tourism as well as the development of municipal economy. Chinese classical indicators and foreign indicators, the system and techniques of the indication should be selected for use and the objects of indication must be increased. Five basic principles should be upheld when an indication project is made and put into force.
