Different connotations between English words and Chinese words and vocabulary teaching

由于文化因素的制约,英汉词语的内涵意义存在较大差异。本文先探讨了词语内涵意义的交际价值,然后比较了英汉词语内涵意义的差异,最后提出了英语词汇教学的建议。

Under the influence of the cultural factors, there are wide differences in the connotations between English and Chinese. This paper first discusses the communicative values of words' connotations, then makes a comparison between the connotations of English words and that of Chinese words, and finally puts forward some advices on English vocabulary teaching.
