《晚安苔丝迪梦娜》中的女主人公康斯坦丝·莱德贝丽注疏甄别经典并考据原创作者的过程就是单身机器高速运转并对主体施加影响的过程。在一个欲望已被锁定的、以俄狄浦斯为伦理框架且以男根为能指暴君的封建社会里,康斯坦丝·莱德贝丽为拯救苔丝迪梦娜、罗密欧与朱丽叶所做的一切注定是要失败的,因为在象征秩序内,每位主体皆陷入能指连环而让位于主体间性。因此,废黜能指暴君,提倡非法西斯的生活方式,在当今以多样性为特征的后工业社会里就显得尤为重要。
The process of the protagonist Constance Ledbelly' s quest for the Author in Good Evening Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet) is the time when the celibate machine exerts its overwhelming influence over the subject. Constance' s effort to rescue Desdemona , Romeo and Juliet is doomed to fail because of reterritorialization, of the ethics based on the Oedipal triangle and of the phallus-the despotic signifier characteristic of a feudalistic society. Due to the Symbolic Order every subject besieged by the signifying chains yields to subjectivity. To dethrone the despotic signifier a non-fascist life should be advocated in today's post-industrial society of multiplicity.
