梼杌为何物,众说纷纭。以杌名楚史,为"记嚣凶之恶"与孟子之意悖。其实,所谓杌即伐木后留下的树桩子,上面的年轮反映了树木生长的历史,楚人用以为楚史之名,正如鲁人以"春秋"为鲁史之名同。
