目前,平遥古城旅游业发展尚存在产业结构单一、基础服务设施较差等问题,新一轮总体规划又偏重于古城保护,忽视新区建设。因此,有必要建构一条从双林寺—古城的城市级“旅游发展轴”,以挖掘平遥古城旅游产业深层次发展的潜力,同时也对总体规划做一个有力的补充。

Up to now, the structure of tourism industry in Pingyao, an ancient town in Shanxi Province, is still simple and unitary, and its servicefacilities are crude and inferior. The newly prepared master plan of Pingyao emphasizes more on the preservation of the ancient town, payingless attention to new development. Therefore, it is necessary to build a tourism development axis from Shuanglingsi to the ancient city, to cultivatetourism potential of Pingyao and at the same time as a strong amendment to its plan.[
