Mice and Men is one of the most important short novels of American writer John Steinbeck. In the novel, a series of closely related metaphors play very important role in highlighting the theme. This paper attempts to probe into some important metaphors of the novel such as the title, the character Lennie, the dead mouse and the old useless dog. etc.
