Sentence Group Awareness and Translation Unit

“句段意识”是把握汉译英技巧的一种核心意识;将句段作为汉译英的“翻译单位”是根据英汉语语句构造的不同特点而设计的一种汉英对译的“单位”。

This article attempts a revisit to the question of translation unit in Chinese-English translation, putting forward the idea, out of the consideration of the peculiarities of Chinese and English utterances, that sentence group may be taken as the translation unit. The awareness of sentence group is assumed in this article to be essential for the training of Chinese-English translation techniques.
