Other Scenery:The Western Study of Book History in Chinese Scholar's View

西方的书史研究是建立在媒介变革和跨学科思路之上的新兴学术领域。中国学者对其引进和接受,分布于新文化史、接受美学、媒介环境学等几个相关的学术领域。1982年,罗伯特·达恩顿的《什么是书史》发表,为西方的书史研究界定了较为明晰的学术边界。随着中国学者对这个概念的体认日益加深,对西方书史理论和研究成果的翻译日益繁盛。在此基础之上,中国学者对其研究沿着三个路向展开,一是对书史理论源流的追问,二是对代表人物达恩顿的研究,三是对诸多成果的书评。当下中国学者的研究,中西对比的研究思路逐渐显现,一方面是基本的学术成果引进之后,构建中国特色的书史研究是一个必经之路;另一方面,也预示了今后对西方书史研究的两个领域:一是西方书史成果的引进和研究需要进一步深入;二是书史研究的细分化与本土化。

The western study of book history is an emerging academic field based on media revolution and interdisciplinary approach.Chinese scholars introduce and accept it in several related academic fields,such as the New Cultural History,Reception Aesthetics and Media environmental studies.In 1982,Robert Darnton's What Is the History of Books was published to outline the clear academic boundaries for the western study of book history.As Chinese scholars`understanding to this concept has deepened,the translation and study of the book history theory and achievement have been prosperous.On this basis,Chinese scholars research on it from three aspects.First is the origin study of book history theory.Second is the study of the representative person,Robert Darnton.Third is the book review of the achievement.At present,in the research of Chinese scholars,the contrast of Chinese and western research ways has gradually revealed.On the one hand,building a book history research with Chinese characteristics is the only way after introducing the basic academic achievements;on the other hand,it indicated the two fields of book history in future:one is that it is necessary to study further for the introduction of book history;the other is the elaboration and localization of book history research.
