A Brief History of the Printing and Publishing Industry in Macao

欧洲活字印刷术和石印技术最早经澳门传入中国内地,对近现代中国出版业的发展和中西文化交流起到极大的促进作用。通过对澳门印刷出版业近五百年发展历史的梳理,本文勾勒出澳门印刷出版业的发展脉络,在分析各发展阶段的特点后,指出了澳门印刷出版业的发展趋势。

The technology of movable type printing and lithography of Europe was first introduced to ancient China by way of Macao,and then significantly facilitated the development of modern Chinese publishing industry as well as the cultural exchanges between the East and the West. By reviewing the nearly-500-year-history of the printing and publishing industry in Macao,this article outlines evolvement of the industry,analyzes features of different stages,and points out the trend of future development.
