Pursuit of Craftsmanship in the History of Chongwen Publishing House

崇文书局在清同治六年(1867)创办于湖北武昌,是在中国出版史上占有重要地位的出版机构。概括起来,崇文书局史上的工匠精神,集中体现在三个方面:选题策划上的守正出新,编辑校勘上的精益求精,刻版印刷上的精雕细琢。

In the sixth year of Emperor Tongzhi's ruling in the Qing Dynasty( 1867),Chongwen Publishing House was established in Wuchang of Hubei. It played an important role in China's publishing history. In general,its pursuit of craftsmanship was shown in three aspects,i.e.,maintaining the tradition and making innovation in topic selection and design,always pursuing excellence in editing and collation,and seeking increasing improvement in block printing.
