In the new era of reform and opening up,Chen Yuan carried forward his thoughts on publishing mainly in the following aspects: reform spirit and strategic thinking,comprehension of publishing scale and practice,pursuit of and emphasis upon good book quality,being open-minded and a keen sense of the market. Even now,these thoughts are still of referential and enlightening significance for the development of publishing industry.
