在1958年成为整理出版古籍和学术图书的专业出版社之后,中华书局设立编辑室,专门编辑出版近代史类图书,这成为中华书局编辑出版工作中的一大特色。本文为中华书局老出版人的回忆,忆及中华书局近代史编辑室成立原因和过程、在"文化大革命"前编辑出版的图书、编辑人员情况等内容,对研究中华书局局史及中国近现代出版史均有较高史料价值。

Zhonghua Book Company became a publishing house specialized in editing and publishing ancient books and academic books in 1958. Following the change,an editorial office was set up to edit and publish the books on modern history,which emerged as a distinctive feature of the editing and publishing work at Zhonghua Book Company. In the paper,a senior publisher of Zhonghua Book Company recalled the reason and process of setting up the Modern History Editorial Office,the books edited and published before the Cultural Revolution,and the editors,among others,which are precious information with high historical value to the study on the history of Zhonghua Book Company and China's modern publishing history.
