It comes out from irregularly to regularly,changes from self-issuing to entrusted-issuing by the post office,and turns to contractual operation from self-financing. Its evolution mirrors the tough start of Chinese periodicals in the early 1980 s. The Ancient and Modern Legends is the first periodical of getting administrative ranking elevated for outstanding performance,and the second periodical which was printed in another place,and the fourth periodical to practice contractual operation in China 's periodical history since reform and opening-up was launched. All these changes reflect the overlapping and complicated political,economic and cultural relationships over the course of China's periodical reform.
