北京编译社是新中国成立初期专为北京各大出版社翻译国外书稿的翻译机构,为我国翻译出版事业做出贡献。本文回忆北京编译社的成立经过、发展历程,以及为商务印书馆等出版机构翻译书稿等史实,为研究我国翻译出版事业提供了新的史料。

The Beijing Compilation and Translation Press was a specialized agency of translating foreign manuscripts for Beijing-based publishing houses during the early period of New China. It contributed to the translation and publishing cause of China. The paper reviews its establishment and development as well as its experience of translating manuscripts for The Commercial Press and other publishing houses,so as to provide new historical materials for researching China's translation and publishing industry.
