Analysis of the Interaction Between Language Diversity and Economic Development

本文分析了语言多样性与经济发展之间的复杂互动关系及其作用机理,并就如何化解两者间的矛盾、优化互动关系提出政策建议。语言多样性和经济发展双方对彼此都同时具有两种相反的力量,即语言多样性既会阻碍也可能促进经济发展,经济发展会破坏语言多样性,同时又能为维护语言多样性提供物质保障。这两组相反力量综合作用的结果构成了语言多样性与经济发展之间的动态关系,并决定着人类语言与经济关系发展的未来走向。化解语言多样性与经济发展之间的矛盾,需要建立语言规划与经济规划之间的良性互动机制,发展多语教育和语言技术,全面提升语言能力,做好语言资源管理规划,发展语言经济。

In this paper, we analyze the complex interaction between language diversity and economic development and its mechanism of action. At last we put forward policy proposals on how to dissolve the contradiction between the two and optimize the interactive relationship. Language diversity and economic development of both sides of each other at the same time with two opposing forces, namely, linguistic diversity is hampering may also promote economic development, economic development will destroy the diversity of language,but also to maintain the diversity of language and provide material support. The result of the combination of these two groups of forces constitutes the dynamic relationship between language diversity and economic development, and determines the future direction of the development of human language and economic relations. To resolve the contradiction between language diversity and economic development, need to establish benign interaction mechanism between language planning and economic planning, the development of multilingual education and language skills, enhance language ability, good language resource management planning, the development of language economy.
