摘要
高职院校传统的公共英语教学模式不能满足学生的实际需要,所以专门用途英语(ESP)被引入到高职公共英语教学中。本文通过问卷的形式对学生的ESP需求分析进行了调查。调查结果表明,学生学习ESP课程的目标明确、动机强、兴趣和信心足、态度积极;学生希望教师充分利用教材和教学环境,侧重培养他们的ESP交际能力。学生的需求分析结果对ESP教学产生一定的启示作用,教师不仅需要提高自身英语和专业知识水平,而且要进一步改进教学策略。
In vocational higher education colleges,the conventional teaching mode of general English does not meet learners’practical needs.The teaching mode of English for Specific Purposes is applied to general English teaching to meet learners’needs.The questionnaire is used for learners’needs analysis.The finding shows that learners have specific aims,a powerful motivation,and a positive attitude in learning ESP courses.They learn with great interest and confidence.They hope that teachers will take advantages of textbooks and make best use of the teaching environment to cultivate learners’reading and writing abilities and fulfill the requirement of communication needs in learning ESP.The finding also shows some teaching implications for ESP teachers.They are expected to improve not only English proficiency and specialized knowledge but also the teaching methodology.
