专门用途英语:学术引进与理念更新——兼评《专门用途英语教学与研究学术文库》的出版

Introducing ESP Research and Updating Concepts:Critique of Academic Series of ESP Teaching and Research

本文对国内外专门用途英语(ESP)的教学与研究发展进行简要回顾,对清华大学出版社引进的《专门用途英语教学与研究学术文库》进行评介,并强调指出,国内高校外语教学改革应借助专门用途英语学术专著引进的契机,推动教学理念的更新,提高大学生的学术英语和专业英语应用能力,培养国家需要的懂专业、会外语的复合型人才。

This paper reviews the development of ESP teaching and research in China and abroad and gives a critique of Academic Series of ESP Teaching and Research published by Tsinghua University Press.It emphasizes that university ELT reform in China should seize this opportunity of ESP promotion for renewal of pedagogical ideologies and for improvement of college students’academic and professional English abilities so as to cultivate a strong disciplinary knowhow and language expertise in them.
