C 801 Missile Weapon System fired from a surface ship or an aircraft is chiefly used to attack surface ships of medium size, such as escort vessels and destroyers. This paper discribes the weapon system in detail and analyses its performance.C 801 System consists of the winged missile and the ground- or ship-based equipments, including the tracking radar, fire director, container-launcher, transporting truck and missile test devices. Equipped with a solid rocket engine, a monopulse terminal homing radar with anti-interference circuits, and a semi-armor-piercing warhead, the missile is convenient in use, highly accurate and very powerful; a single missile is able to destroy a target, at least to disable it heavily.
