Population,resources and the environment economics: history,present and future

人口、资源与环境经济学从1997年正式设立至今已经有20年了,作为一个新学科,20年来取得了长足的发展,并被给予了很大的期望。通过最近几年该领域博士生导师所发表的论文来看,学科当前的发展呈现出这样一些特征,首先是研究的领域在拓展,其次是研究队伍的来源多样化,其三是这个学科的研究依然没有解决条块分割的现象,最后是很少有人还在关注如何建设这个新学科。通过分析学科研究现状,可以发现虽然经过了20年的建设,但人口资源与环境经济学依然不能称为一门独立的学科。从人口经济学、环境经济学和资源经济学这三者的关系来看,很难融合成一个新的学科,而将这三个学科分开来的话,可能对彼此的发展会更有利。

It has been 20 years since population,resources and environmental economics was formally established in 1997.As a new discipline,it has achieved a great development within 20 years.We study the papers that published after 2010 by Ph.D.students' advisors in this discipline.We find there presented some characteristics of current research in this field.Firstly,the research fields were extended,secondly,the research teams have diversity background,thirdly,people from different backgrounds do research in their own areas,and lastly,few people still focused on how to build this new discipline.Through the analysis of the research status,we find that even after 20 years of construction,the population,resources and the environment economics is still could not be treated as an independent discipline.Based on the relationship among population economics,environmental economics and resource economics,it is difficult to combine these three into a new discipline.Our study suggests that it will be better if we do the research separately within each discipline.
