This paper summarizes the course of the Chinese automotive painting and coatings industry’s development in 40 years of reform, the main types and latest developments of Chinese automotive coatings products, focusing on vehicle body OEM coatings most representative of the level of the automotive coatings industry’s technological development, and briefly introduces the development trends of automotive repair coatings and bumper coatings as well as the latest technological progress in automotive coatings and automotive painting.
