The Observation of the Effect on the Treatment of 31 Smokers by Ear Acupuncture

卷烟的烟草中含有尼古丁、焦油、氨、一氧化碳、氰酸等化学物质,对人体有各种毒害。

Since May 1980,the author has treated 31 ciga-rette smokers,who had smoked at least 20 ciga-rettes every day,by ear acupuncture and observedby following up treatment.The method was to em-bed the thumbtack needles in Shenman and Lungpoints on either side of the ear for ten days.Duri-ng the retaining period,pressing would be madedaily to strengthen the stimulation.The results were as follows:The short termeffective rate was 84%,while the long term effec-tive rate was 3.2%.After being treated for 1-2days,the smoking amount was markedly reduced orstopped.It was also conductive to sleep and reco-very of respiratory tract disease.
