Four Queries on Ci Commentaries of the Song Dynasty

学术界历来认为,宋代词论中苏轼鄙视柳永,而李清照又不满苏轼。事实上,苏轼对柳永的态度比较辩证,李清照的词“别是一家”与苏轼“以诗为词”的理论,具备内在精神的一致性。张炎《词源》提出“清空”概念,众多学者推许它是清雅人格的象征,细经辨析,则应属于词法范畴的规则。

The academia has long claimed that in ci commentaries of the Song Dynasty, Su Shi feels a contempt for Liu Yong, while Li Qingzhao does not think much of Su Shi. But in fact, Su s attitude towards Liu is of a comparatively dialectical one. There also exists a sort of internal uniformity between Li Qingzhao s ' unique style of ci poetry and Su's theory on 'making use of poetry in ci composition.' Zhang Yan' s Origin of Ci Poetry puts forward the concept of 'pure and void,' of which not a few scholars conjecture it to be a symbol of his detached and elegant disposition. Yet careful examination and analysis tell us that it should belong in the category of skills in ci writing.
