The Challenges and Opportunities from the Impact of Organization Flattening in the Information Age

摘要 被称为第三次浪潮的信息时代的到来,促成和推动了组织结构扁平化。在迅猛的企业扁平化转型过程中,高效率的生产力激励着生产关系的急剧转变。不仅工业企业的组织、业务、管理等面临新的商业模式、新的战略抉择,大规模突然出现的新的个人行为和组织行为以及新的社会现象,也会对整个社会造成深刻的影响。由于组织结构扁平化减少了中间环节、去中介化,高速度、高效率的生产方式进一步降低代理成本,其直接后果是中层管理岗位大量消失,失去工作或失去晋升机会的担忧可能损伤员工的归属感。扁平化带来的新的生产关系和社会问题是不容忽视的。 The advent of the information age facilitated the flattening of organizational structures and global economic integration.In the rapid transformation and development,productivity stimulates the sharp mutation of production relations.Organizations,businesses and management are faced with new business models and new strategies.Also,new individual and organizational behaviors and new social phenomena which appeared suddenly in large scale,have a profound impact on society.The intermediate or mid-level management is removed due to fattening organization structures.Agent cost,as a result,is further reduced through high-speed and high-efficiency approaches of production.The immediate consequence is the disappearance of a large number of middle management positions,which may damage the loyalty of employees.New production relationship built and new social problems caused during the process of organization flattening should be taken care of seriously.
