The Yangtze River basin has currently formed three huge urban agglomerations, comprised of the Yangtze River Delta city group, middle reaches city group and Chengdu Chongqing city group. Besides, it needs secondary city groups to support and build the economic belt along the Yangtze River. And the Three Gorges city group is going to become a crucial sector.
