孔子和席勒的美育思想都在美学史和教育思想史上产生了重要的影响。孔子和席勒的美育思想在人文思想基础、美育的内容、地位、本质和目的等方面都有可比性。而蔡元培学贯中西,兼取两家,继承和发展了孔子和席勒的美育思想。

As important thinkers of China and the west,Confucius and Schiller have both discussed about aesthetic education, and their theories have important influence. Confucius and Schiller's thoughts about aesthetic education are in the humanistic basis,the content of the aesthetic education,methods and purpose are comparable. And CaiYuanpei inherited and developed the Confucius and Schiller's theories about aesthetic education.
