The Marxist theory on gender equality and its sinicization are the theoretical basis of the socialist conception of gender equality with Chinese characteristics: the origin of the basis is the gender equality theory presented by Marx and Engels,revealing the root of women oppression and the conditions and means of women's liberation in the rising period of capitalism; the cornerstone of this sinicized theories is the theory put forward by Mao Zedong and other Chinese Communists which explored the features,the routes and the laws of Chinese women's liberation; the direct theoretical support is the gender equality theory that adhered to the path of socialist woman development with Chinese characteristics developed by Chinese Communists represented by Deng Xiaoping,Jiang Zemin,Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping in the new phase of reform and opening- up.
