Objective Neovascularization plays a critical role in wound healing and regeneration, which provides material basis, such as oxygen, nutrients for tissue repair. With the developement of molecular biology and cell engineering technology, gene transfection and stem cell technique show unique advantages in the wound repair and angiogenesis. This paper reviewed the process of wound healing and reasons of refractory chronic wounds, the role of the relevant growth factor gene transfection technology and its efficiency, the combination of genetically modified stem cells in chronic wound healing process which provided reference for clinical treatment of chronic wounds and other thorny issues.
