The private wushu(martial arts) school is the most special'enterprise' as a result of the development of a market economy. The revival of traditional culture and the return of the traditional understanding of health allow China's private wushu vocational education, especially private wushu schools,to flourish more vigorously. The social factors formed during the emergence and development of private wushu schools, their present development situation and main problems are analyzed in this article. The social responsibilities of private wushu schools are also deeply explored to help them make clear of the complicated relationship in their development. Private wushu schools should clear the guiding ideology with a scientific outlook of development to keep pace with the times,improve its competitiveness by the aspects of system, management, professional characteristics and talent cultivation, and deal well with the relationship between profit and public interest. Only in this way can those private wushu schools achieve benign and sustainable development, undertake their social responsibilities and take a further step to march towards the world in the fierce market competition.
