This paper does an in-depth exploration and analysis on the origin of traditional sports of Chinese minority. It is concluded that the traditional sports of Chinese minority stem from activities such as productive labor, leisure and recreation in their spare times, religious fete, the need for love expression and economic activity. It can be a great help for traditional sports of Chinese minority to find a suitable development path in a constantly changing society, by analyzing its origin.
