Effect of PET Enclosures on the Ageing of Famous Manuscripts

摘要 名家手稿急需保护,聚酯装具用于保护名家手稿有优势,但是聚酯装具对名家手稿耐久性的影响研究尚不充分。为了研究聚酯装具对名家手稿耐久性的影响,本文应用名家手稿常用的墨水(红墨水、蓝墨水、蓝黑墨水、碳素墨水、墨汁)和纸(酸性机制纸和手工纸)制成模拟手稿,并在聚酯装具保护下进行人工加速老化试验,然后通过考察聚酯装具对模拟手稿老化前后色差和机械强度的影响来反映聚酯装具对名家手稿耐久性的影响。研究发现:聚酯装具对所有模拟手稿的色差均无劣化影响且延缓了红墨水手稿和蓝墨水手稿的褪色;蓝黑墨水、碳素墨水、蓝墨水和墨汁中均含有促进纸张老化的成分,且上述墨水对纸张机械强度的劣化作用会随保存时间延长而增大;聚酯装具不能改善酸性机制纸手稿的机械强度,对手工纸手稿无墨水区域的机械强度有改善效果;聚酯装具和中碱性纸综合作用可以改善酸性机制纸的机械强度。 The preservation and protection of famous manuscripts are urgent needed. PET enclosures have significant advantages in the application performance when used to preserve famous manuscripts. However, the effect of PET enclosures on the ageing of famous manuscripts was inadequacy. In order to study the effect of PET enclosures on the aging of famous manuscripts. The manuscripts were made by inks(red ink, blue ink, blue-black ink, black ink and Chinese ink) and paper(acidic machine-made paper, handmade paper) which were usually used in famous manuscripts. Then, the manuscripts with and without the protection of PET enclosures were artificial accelerated aging. The difference in mechanical strength and color of between the manuscripts with and without the protection of PET enclosures were used to represent the effect of PET enclosures on the ageing of famous manuscripts. The results shown that PET enclosures have no deteriorated effect on all of the manuscripts, and they delayed the colour fading of the manuscripts made by red ink and blue ink. All of the blue-black ink, black ink, blue ink and Chinese ink accelerated the ageing of famous manuscripts and the deterioration were aggravated after ageing. It suggested that they have injurious ingredient. The mechanical strength of acidic manuscripts cannot be improved by the protection of PET enclosure, while the mechanical strength of the area without ink of the handmade manuscripts was improved by the protection of PET enclosure. The combined action of PET enclosure and alkaline paper can improve the mechanical strength of acid paper.
