大山里的灯笼村

A Lantern Making Village in the Mountains

逢年过节,是仙居县湫山乡雅溪村最"红火"的日子:全村家家户户门口摆满了灯笼制品,村民们加工、销售灯笼忙得不亦乐乎。雅溪村是一条狭长的山沟,是仙居县最西部的一个小山村,全村201户人家近600人,耕地只有278亩,水田更少,每人不到一分水田,祖祖辈辈在此靠种地为生。雅溪灯笼红火起来是近几年的事,但事实上,早在1984年,这个产业就开始悄然萌芽了。一个偶然的机会让当地村民从外地学会了灯笼制作工艺,刚开始时,全村只有一两户在做,发展到现在,这个村已形成数十家规模产业的大户。雅溪村有一半以上村民从事灯笼加工,产品种类也从屋前挂的红灯笼,拓展到客厅挂的精致小灯笼。近至江苏、安徽,远到青海、新疆,雅溪灯笼销往全国28个省市。

New Year’s Day and other festivals are the most "prosperous" time at Yaxi Village,Jiaoshan Township of Xianju County.By then,lanterns are left over the doorway of every family and the villagers are busy making and selling lanterns,too. On festivals people either in the south or north areas of the Yangtze both like to hang lanterns.However,they may not aware that the lanterns they bought are mostly from Yaxi,a small village of 201 households.At Yaxi,over half of the villagers devote themselves to the processing of various lanterns from the big red lanterns in front of the house to the exquisite small lanterns in the parlour.In addition they also sell lanterns themselves and have successfully sold their products to over twenty provinces and municipalities.After amassing considerable wealth,the villagers are now working hard to change and promote the designs of the lanterns so as to create their own brand for further development.
