The Folk House Museum in Southern Zhejiang——A visit to Shunxi ancient architectural complex of the Qing Dynasty

耕读传家顺溪古建筑群坐落在我省平阳县顺溪镇,地处平阳县西部山区,位于鳌江上游的群山环抱之中,是一个纯山区的乡镇。"青街竹,顺溪屋",这句流行于平阳的古老谚语,准确地表达了顺溪这个平阳西部山区著名的省级历史文化名镇的乡土风情,反映了平阳人对本地乡土建筑的自豪感。一直以来,传统古民居是平阳文化遗产的一大特色,它们以规模宏大、工艺精湛、风格独特闻名于世。顺溪陈氏古建筑群就是其中的典型代表。顺溪境内基本完整的大型古民居建筑共有10座,面积达25200平方米,多建于清乾隆至嘉庆年间,粉墙黛瓦,沿溪而筑,布局恢宏,体量巨大,构建精巧,给人以古朴、深邃、庄重的感觉。

Shunxi ancient architectural complex is situated in the western mountainous area,Pingyang County,Zhejiang Province.As the saying goes, "Bamboos of Qingjie,Houses of Shunxi" precisely illustrates the flirtatious expression of Shunxi as well as Pingyang people’s honor of local vernacular architecture.Traditional ancient dwellings,including Shunxi ancient architectural complex,are a typical feature of the culture heritage of Pingyang,which are well known for the grand scale,exquisite workmanship and unique style.In Shunxi,there are ten complete large-scale ancient dwelling architecture,covering 25,200 square meters.Those dwellings,mainly built during Qianlong and Jiaqing periods of the Qing Dynasty,qualified with grand layout and size as well as exquisite construction,giving people a simple,deep and solemn sense.Hence they are hailed as the "Folk House Museum in Southern Zhejiang".
