The Grandmaster,an Ethos of Fortitude——The Exhibition in Commemoration of Pan Tianshou’s 120th Anniversary

潘天寿先生是20世纪中国画大师、美术教育家。他把民族绘画提到关乎一民族、一国家生存发展的重要高度,认为'一民族之艺术,即为一民族精神之结晶。故振兴民族艺术,与振兴民族精神有密切关系'。作为艺术家,潘天寿先生直面现代之挑战,接续优秀传统之正脉,倡导'至大、至刚、至中、至正之气',力创沉雄奇崛、浩大刚正的画风;以其风骨遒劲、清朗明豁的宏章巨构。

Pan Tianshou,a Chinese painting master and art educator in the 20 century,had raised the national painting to a momentous height concerning the survival and development of the whole nation and country.He believed that the art of a nation is the nation’s crystal of spirit.Therefore,promoting the art of a nation has a close relation with invigorating the national spirit.In May 2017, "An Ethos of Fortitude—The Exhibition in Commemoration of Pan Tianshou’s 120th Anniversary" was held grandly in the National Art Museum of China in Beijing.
