In contemporary society, museums have played an important role in enhancing citizenry literacy. With a purpose to embody museums' public education mission,it is necessary for museum staff to deeply understand visitors' needs and visiting preferences. In applying a visitor-centered working approach,I stood in a visitor's perspective, observed myself, and reflected on my visiting experience in a Chinese museum. The results show that, due to the differences of the sociocultural contexts visitors have been situated in,they demonstrated different focuses and interests in museum exhibitions. Such differences remind that,it is necessary for museum staff to make sense of visitors' different backgrounds in interaction with visitors. In addition, such diversity also offered inspirations for museum staff to create visitor-needed educational programs and museum exhibitions.
