一、前言2017年,中國商標註册申請量高達574.8萬件,與2016年相比增長55.7%。至此,中國的商標年申請量已實現了連續16年位居世界第一,有效商標註册量佔世界商標總量的40%以上。但是,常被用做文字商標的漢字乃至拉丁字母的組合形式畢竟是有限的,商標作爲一種符號資源能够被申請人所選擇的餘地亦變得日趨緊張。

In 2017, the number of registered trademarks in China reached up to 5.748 million, which represented a 55.7% in-crease over 2016. So far, the number of trademark applica-tions filed in China has been ranked first in the world for 16 consecutive years, and the number of valid trademark regis-trations accounts for more than 40% of the total number of trademarks in the world. However, since there are limited combinations of Chinese characters, or even Latin letters, that can be usually used as word trademarks, applicants are facing an increasingly tense situation in selecting marks that function as symbol resources.
