Emphasis on the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of intracranial atherosclerosis

颅内动脉粥样硬化(ICAS)是全球性的缺血性卒中的重要病因,除了血管狭窄程度外,侧支循环状态、斑块稳定性、血流动力学及其他因素等都是决定卒中复发的因素。应从血管病变的形态学、侧支循环和血流动力学等方面对ICAS进行综合评估,更精确地对ICAS患者进行风险分层并制定合理的治疗决策。

Intracranial atherosclerosis(ICAS) is an important cause of ischemic stroke throughout the world. Beyond the maximal degree of luminal stenosis, collateral status, plaque stability, hemodynamic impact, and other potential factors may all be predictors for the risk of subsequent recurrent events. It is practical implications to comprehensively evaluate ICAS from the aspects of atherosclerotic plaque morphology, collateral circulations and hemodynamics, and make a more accurate risk stratification for ICAS patients and reasonable treatment decisions.
