Differentiation and Analysis on Radix Notoginseng

明代医家张四维 1 5 76年在《医门秘旨》中首载三七 ;随后 ,李时珍在《本草纲目》中记载了五加科的三七和另一种具有活血化瘀作用的类似三七的植物 ;清代赵学敏在《本草纲目拾遗》中将三七和人参联系在一起 ,归于昭参条下 ;清代吴其浚在《植物名实图考》中进一步描述了三七的功效 ,并指出《本草纲目》中记载的类似三七的植物是土三七 ,即菊叶三七。

The Secret of Medical Profession, which was written by Zhang Si wei in Ming dynasty in 1576, first recorded Radix Notoginseng. Subsequently, Li Shi zheng recorded two kinds of Radix Notoginseng, one belongs to Acanthopanax gracilistylus, and the other one is analogous to Radix Notoginseng, which has effect of blood activating and stasis removing. Zhao Xue ming in Complement to Compendium of Materia Medica in Qing dynasty integrated Radix Notoginseng with Radix Ginseng, and classified Radix Notoginseng as Zhaoshen, namely Panax Notoginseng, which was produced in Zhaotong of Yunnan province. Wu qi xun in An Illustrated Book on Plants in Qing dynasty further described the effects of Radix Notoginseng, and pointed out that the plant being analogous to Radix Notoginseng in Compendium of Materia Medica was local Radix Notoginseng,namely Gynura Segetum(Lour.) Merr.
