The New Translation Principles:Studies on the Mistranslation of Chinese Signs

随着中英公共标识语的广泛使用,公共标识语汉英翻译研究日益引起人们的重视。通过探讨公共标识语误译溯因,提出应以译文读者为中心、遵循简单可读性原则和遵从国际惯例等相关翻译原则。

Along with the extensive use of Chinese and English signs in public places, studies on the translation of the bilingual signs have increasingly attracted people’s attention. Through the exploration of the reasons of mistranslation, the paper proposes several related translation principles as follows: should be reader-centered, follow the simple readability principle and comply with the international conventions.
