A new method for on-line separation and preconcentration of trace amounts of chromium(Ⅵ) in natural waters and industrial waste waters was developed by using self-made ion-exchange micro-column and flow injection analysis technology. Linear range of determination was (1~40) ng/mL. Samples of natural waters, electroplating liquor, electroplating waste and electroplating effluent were analyzed by the developed procedure with satisfactory results. Recoveries of the method was between 95.7%~105%.
