An on-line analytical system has been designed and used on large methanol and carbon monoxide production equipment successfully. Important problems concerning the design and application of the on-line analytical system are discussed, such as the selection of instruments, evaluation criteria, considerations about designing of sampling system, and the appropriate procedures for installation, calibration and practical operation.
