美国印第安女作家厄德里奇作品叙事策略解读

Elaboration on the Narrative Strategy of the Works of the American Indian Writer Erdirich

路易斯.厄德里奇是当代重要的本土作家。从1984年起,她连续发表了《爱药》、《甜菜女王》、《轨迹》、《羚羊妻》等多部小说或故事集,描写了当代印第安人的生活,映射了印第安家庭之间、个人之间、印第安人与白人之间等各种错综复杂的关系,在小说艺术上取得了很多重大成就。她本人身份的混杂性与边缘化在其长篇小说中留下不可磨灭的痕迹。厄德里奇善于运用的奥吉布瓦族讲故事的模式和叙述自由之间的平衡,不仅反映了印第安人通常的讲故事技巧,而且体现了奥吉布瓦族喜欢恶作剧的精灵纳纳伯周(Nanabozho)的精神实质。本文通过分析恶作剧精灵以及特殊的叙述模式在厄德里奇长篇小说中的体现,来说明奥吉布瓦传统故事的特点。

Louise Erdrich is an important contemporary local writer.From 1984,she continuously published Love Medicine,The Beet Queen,Tracks,The Antelope Wife and many other novels or stories in description of contemporary Indian life,which reflect the intricate relationships between the Indian families,individuals,and other Indian and white,having made many significant achievements.Her identity of hybridity and marginalization leaves an indelible mark in its novel.By the use of storytelling and narrative modes,Erdrich reflects not only the usual storytelling skills,but also the spiritual essence of Nana Bo Zhou(Nanabozho)-mischievous elves of Ojibwa tribe.This paper tries to analyze the Trickster and special narrative mode Erdrich's novels reflected,to display the characteristics of Ojibwa traditional stories.
