摘要
Halliday所创设的功能语法为语篇分析提供了一个理论框架,它可以用来分析英语中所有书面的或口头的语篇。Halliday提出的三个纯理功能分别是概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能。人际功能是功能语法的一个重要组成部分,也是进行语篇分析的一项重要理论依据。本文以韩礼德的人际功能为理论框架,并参考其他学者对于人际意义的观点,对奥巴马2012年11月7日的总统竞选获胜演说从语气、情态及人称代词三个方面进行了分析,以探讨这位政治家在其竞选胜利演说中是如何运用语言工具来传递给民众他的政治思想和执政抱负的。
The functional grammar proposed by Halliday has provided a theoretical framework for discourse analysis of both written and oral materials.According to Halliday,language has three metafunctions,namely ideational function,interpersonal function and textual function.Based on Halliday's model of interpersonal system and other linguists' viewpoints,this paper has explored the realization of the interpersonal function in Obama's victory speech from the aspects of mood,modality and personal pronoun,aiming to disclose the relationship between the choice of ways to realize interpersonal function and the addresser's intended meaning,so as to better understand the characteristics of political speech and the addresser's original intentions.
